Symbria Patterson
Co-Founder
Symbria spent a lifetime working in the nonprofit sector. After her daughter started an organic farm, she and her late-husband saw the possibilities and left their employment to work full-time building a sustainable farm. Their focus was to make local food accessible and to create a community educated about healthy food and responsible sources. As her experience grew, so did her vision, and she saw the need for an organized effort in promoting and protecting farmers, farms, and local food economies. She and her daughter started another adventure, while continuing the first, and co-founded Red Acre Center in the midst of farming. She says she has never worked a day in her life. "I always find myself engaged in a cause and loving what I do!" The mother of four and grandmother of eight, she loves, to walk, read, farm, eat good food and be anxiously engaged in a good cause.

Eleanor Smith
Membership Coordinator
Eleanor moved down to Cedar City in 2020 to attend Southern Utah University and study Biology. While she finished her degree at SUU she was introduced to Red Acre Center while working for Red Acre Farm. She has been helping out at RAC since 2022 when she hopped in to help with the Utah Farm and Food Conference. Since then she has continued her work with the conference and is now the Membership Coordinator. She is so grateful to be a part of an organization that continuously supports so many producers across the state. Her favorite things in life are a good side quest, jamming to music, snowboarding, playing the piano, reading poetry, lake days, eating good food, and being with her loved ones.

Jenny Larrison
Administration
Jenny's love of fresh produce and delicious food was taught to her by her mother and grandfather. Growing up with a huge garden, she learned from a young age just how important good, healthy food was. Her passion continued in college where she studied Agroecology and Environmental Science. Following college Jenny worked for multiple farms throughout California. After a tangential move into corporate management she decided it was time to get back to her roots. In fall of 2025 she moved to Cedar City and began working for Red Acre Center shortly after. Jenny's passions include eating, cooking, camping and snuggling with her pup, Ollie.
